Correct uname -r

Correct. -r prints the kernel release, for example 5.15.0-91-generic. It is the string that matches the directory under /lib/modules holding that kernel's modules.

Not correct uname -s

Wrong. -s prints the kernel NAME, which on any Linux system is the constant string Linux. It is also what uname prints when given no option at all.

Why
